About Ryo Currency

What is Ryo Currency (RYO)?

Ryo Currency is a cryptocurrency for confidential payments, with mining designed for graphics processors. RYO is its native coin. The project emerged from Sumokoin in 2018 and retained the shared chain history up to their split. Its earlier software ancestry includes Monero and CryptoNote. Ryo has since developed its own mining algorithm, wallet software and changes to transaction handling. Transfers today use the Ryo blockchain and Ryo-compatible wallets.

How does Ryo handle privacy?

Ryo uses Ring Confidential Transactions, or RingCT, to hide amounts and obscure which earlier output is being spent. One-time destination keys conceal the connection between an output and the recipient's public address. Ryo's minimum ring size is 25, consisting of the real spending output and 24 decoys. A recipient can recognize its own incoming funds with its wallet keys. Information shared outside the blockchain, including payment records kept by participants, can still reveal details.

Why does the project emphasize GPU mining?

Ryo uses CryptoNight-GPU, a proof-of-work algorithm designed for graphics processors. Miners compete to produce blocks, and the network targets a block every four minutes. The Atom desktop wallet includes support for solo mining. A solo miner receives a reward when they find an accepted block, so payment timing depends on their share of the network's mining power. Network nodes independently check a block's proof of work and transactions.

How are new RYO coins issued?

Ryo's mining rewards follow a plateau emission schedule. Rewards initially rose, stayed at a plateau, then began declining through scheduled steps. The protocol also includes a continuing tail reward, so a main-emission figure should not be treated as a fixed final supply cap. The chain's history includes a premine inherited from Sumokoin and the subsequent burning of most of that premine. Ryo's source code records both the original allocation and the burn.

Does Ryo already use Halo 2?

The project describes a move to Halo 2 zero-knowledge proofs as future development. Its published current privacy design uses RingCT and ring signatures. A proposed cryptographic change becomes part of the live network only when compatible software and consensus rules are adopted. Wallets using the current protocol continue to construct RingCT payments and validate their proofs.

How do I transfer or trade RYO on NonLogs?

Select native RYO and copy the address from the receiving wallet or your current NonLogs deposit page. Check the destination format and confirmation requirements shown there. Keep the wallet's transaction record; a public explorer cannot show the full balance of a confidential receiving address. Select an RYO pair from the markets below and choose Trade to open its order book. The prices and volumes in the trading-pairs table below describe completed trades on NonLogs.
