About Dash
What is Dash (DASH)?
Dash is an open-source cryptocurrency launched in January 2014 under the name Xcoin. DASH is the native currency of its blockchain, used for payments and network fees. Its design combines proof-of-work mining with a second group of network servers called masternodes. Those servers support transaction locking, chain protection and governance. Dash's wallet features and network services have different roles, so a payment's status can include information beyond the number of blocks mined after it.
How do miners and masternodes differ?
Miners perform X11 proof of work and produce blocks that nodes validate. Masternodes run additional services and register collateral on the chain. A regular masternode requires 1,000 DASH; an Evolution masternode requires 4,000 DASH and also hosts Dash Platform services. Masternodes form quorums that sign network messages, and registered owners can vote on funding proposals. Running one requires the appropriate server and registration. A DASH balance held on an exchange does not automatically operate a masternode.
What do InstantSend and ChainLocks do?
InstantSend uses masternode quorums to lock a transaction's inputs, preventing a conflicting spend from being accepted under that lock. ChainLocks use quorum signatures to establish which block the network accepts at a given height and reject conflicting branches. These mechanisms supplement mined blocks. NonLogs also has its own deposit detection and confirmation policy, so check the deposit's status in your account. A sending wallet's InstantSend indicator alone does not show whether that account has been credited.
Are Dash transactions private?
Dash's base ledger is public. Dash Core wallets offer optional CoinJoin, which combines inputs from several users into transactions with standard output denominations. Repeated rounds make direct input-to-owner links harder to follow, while the transaction amounts and outputs remain visible. CoinJoin requires compatible wallet software and user participation. Information such as address reuse or records held by a service can still connect payments to a person. It does not conceal every DASH transaction by default.
How are new DASH coins created?
Dash reduces its subsidy by one fourteenth, about 7.14%, every 210,240 blocks. The time between reductions depends on how quickly those blocks are mined. Under the current allocation, 20% supports miners, 60% supports the masternode system and up to 20% funds approved governance proposals. Treasury payments occur through superblocks. Since future proposal approval and funding determine how much of the reserved budget is issued, the final supply depends partly on that future spending.
How can I transfer or trade DASH on NonLogs?
For deposits, choose Dash mainnet and the address on your current NonLogs DASH deposit page. Keep the transaction identifier to inspect the payment and its block confirmations. The DASH pairs below open the corresponding trading pages, with prices expressed in each pair's second currency. Charts on the trading pages record completed NonLogs trades. Check the latest execution time and the current bids, offers and quantities before entering an order, especially when the selected pair has little recent activity.
